1961 Kahn’s Wieners
The 1961 football issue follows Kahn’s earlier Browns-and-Steelers focus. The advertising and card format are part of the collectible. Examine the full surface and reverse for food-related staining, paper disturbance and trimmed edges; a clean-looking portrait alone does not establish an intact card.
1962 Kahn’s Wieners, 1963 Kahn’s Wieners and 1964 Kahn’s Wieners
The later Kahn’s issues expand beyond the two-team focus. Keep each year’s checklist separate and use the exact photographic and advertising details to identify a card. Regional distribution should not be translated into an invented print run or a blanket claim that every card is equally scarce.
1961 Lake to Lake Packers
This dairy-associated Green Bay issue offers a focused Packers project. Bart Starr, Ray Nitschke and other players belong to a regional checklist distinct from Topps and Fleer. Numbering and the specific subject matter are more useful than a general “Packers vintage” label when tracking missing cards.
1961 NU-Card
NU-Card is a college-football issue. College affiliation is therefore fundamental, and a later NFL career should not determine whether a card belongs to this set. Preserve the NU-Card spelling and year in a checklist; modern college cards and other NU-Card sports products are separate releases.
1962 Post Cereal
Post’s 200-card American-football issue was associated with cereal packaging. Hand-cut edges are part of its collecting challenge. Compare the complete printed boundary, remaining borders and grading designation; a neat-looking cut is not automatically a full-size, numerically gradable example.
A format-first collection
These sets make a strong type collection because the delivery mechanism is visible in the object. Record company, year, player, dimensions and whether the item is intact, hand-cut or otherwise qualified. Fit storage to the card instead of modifying the card to fit a standard holder.
