1970s Football Oddballs, Stamps & CFL Cards

1970 Kellogs and 1971 Kellogs: Kellogg’s 3-D cards

The requested Kellogs spelling refers to Kellogg’s. The 1970 set contains 60 lenticular cards; the following year is a separate issue. Inspect the plastic surface for cracks and lifting. These flaws can be difficult to see in a straight-on image even when the underlying player picture remains bright.

1971 Dell

Dell’s football collectibles belong to a stamp-oriented publishing format rather than the standard gum-card model. Keep original album material, intact sheets and separated stamps distinct in a collection record. Do not trim a border or detach an item simply to make it fit a conventional card holder.

1972 Sunco Stamps: Sunoco

The requested Sunco entry is covered under the cataloged Sunoco name. Player stamps and their albums preserve a broad view of the period. Condition depends on remaining paper, folds, adhesive history and whether an example is unused or removed from an album; those differences should be disclosed before comparing copies.

1972 NFLPA Iron Ons

These fabric-based collectibles are intended as transfers rather than ordinary paper cards. Keep unused examples separate from pieces that have been applied, cut or removed from clothing. Fabric condition, backing and completeness matter more than a paper-card description such as “sharp corners” would suggest.

1971 O-Pee-Chee CFL and 1972 O-Pee-Chee CFL

These are Canadian Football League issues. A later NFL career does not change the league represented on the card. Track the Canadian set year and player identity exactly, and do not merge an O-Pee-Chee CFL checklist with same-year Topps NFL cards.
