1991 Pinnacle and 1992 Pinnacle
The requested 1991 Pinnacle football issue is valid; it should not be shifted to 1992 because of the baseball brand’s chronology. Dark printed borders make edge whitening conspicuous. Verify the sport and year together when a checklist search returns similarly named baseball products.
1993 Pinnacle and 1994 Pinnacle
These follow-up issues retain their own numbering and companion-card structures. A parallel must be identified from the correct year’s reference, not from a later familiar Pinnacle finish. Look at both sides and the entire printed surface when comparing two versions.
1995 Pinnacle, 1996 Pinnacle and 1997 Pinnacle
The later annual Pinnacle sets coexist with multiple other company lines. Select Certified and Zenith are not interchangeable with flagship Pinnacle. For a player collection, record each line independently so a manufacturer-level search does not collapse distinct cards into one entry.
1995 Zenith
Zenith begins a separate premium football line. Its horizontal backs include a close-up photograph and a football-field statistics graphic. Base cards, promotional cards and Z-Team inserts are separate collecting categories even when their fronts share a premium appearance.
1996 Zenith and 1997 Zenith
The second and third requested Zenith years require their own references. Noteworthy ’95 in the 1996 product is an insert title about the prior season; it is not evidence that the card belongs to the 1995 base set. Preserve the actual issue year and insert name in a collection record.
Condition and rarity are separate
Foil scratches, edge chipping and print quality can make two equally graded cards look quite different. A low population for a little-submitted card does not establish a tiny original print run. Use verified parallel names and serial numbers where present rather than extrapolating production from grading totals.
