2010 Bowman Platinum

The debut combines 100 foilboard veteran and rookie cards with fifty chromium prospects. The prospect cards use their own BPP numbering. Retail and hobby distribution straddled late 2010 and early 2011, but both belong to the 2010 issue; an opening date is not a substitute for the printed product identity.

Foilboard and chromium prospects

The debut Platinum release is easiest to organize by material before player. Its major-league cards use foilboard, while the BPP prospect run uses chromium stock. Both can look reflective in a scan, so the complete number is an important cross-check. A BPP card belongs to the separate prospect list rather than the hundred-card main run.

When reviewing a graded card, retain the exact parallel and autograph wording on the certification. For a raw card, request a back photograph and an angled view of the reflective surface. A visually bright image can conceal the difference between a card's intended finish and surface wear; a straight-on photograph alone may not answer both identity and condition questions.
