1989 Bowman Tiffany
The Tiffany checklist follows the 484-card 1989 Bowman issue, including Ken Griffey Jr. at 220, and retains the taller card format. Glossy fronts and brighter card stock distinguish the factory-set treatment. An ordinary 1989 Bowman card in excellent condition is still a different issue.
1990 Bowman Tiffany
The 528-card Tiffany issue follows Bowman's return to standard card dimensions. Frank Thomas is card 320. This is a different physical format from 1989 Tiffany, so check both the year and the finish when selecting storage or comparing graded examples from the two-year run.
Separating Tiffany from ordinary Bowman
The two years offer a useful physical comparison: 1989 is taller, while 1990 uses the familiar standard-size card. Tiffany follows those respective dimensions rather than imposing one uniform format. A holder appropriate for 1990 may therefore be unsuitable for an ungraded 1989 card.
For a graded example, confirm that the certification identifies Tiffany, then compare the holder's year, player and number with the visible card. For an ungraded card, request a clear back and an angled front view that shows the finish. Gloss and bright stock are useful clues together; neither a clean surface nor a seller's abbreviated title should carry the identification alone.
