1994 Leaf Limited

The debut contains 160 cards on SpectraTech foil-board stock. Boxes were individually numbered, while the cards require their own checklist identification. Gold All-Stars is a separate insert group and should not be treated as a gold version of every base card.

1995 Leaf Limited

The 192-card set is divided into two 96-card series. Hideo Nomo appears as a rookie subject, while Lumberjacks introduces wood-card construction. Identify the material and insert title precisely rather than describing a wood card as an ordinary foil-board base example.

1996 Leaf limited

The lowercase “limited” resolves to Leaf Limited. Its base checklist contracts to ninety cards, with Rookies, Lumberjacks and Pennant Craze as separate groups. Historical box-number promotions do not confer a current prize or redemption right.

Card numbering and box numbering

These early Limited products use serial-numbered packaging, but a box number is not an individual-card serial stamp. When reviewing an ungraded card, request the reverse so the actual card information can be checked. A numbered box can support packaging provenance without establishing the rarity of a particular loose base card.

Material also matters across this run. SpectraTech foil-board base cards and Lumberjacks wood inserts are different types of objects with different checklist roles. Record the insert name, dimensions and visible material before comparing grades or placing them in holders. A themed name such as Lumberjacks should not be expanded into an unsupported claim that the card contains a particular player's game-used bat.
