1983 O-Pee-Chee
The 396-card Canadian set uses the Topps design with bilingual backs and an O-Pee-Chee logo. Tony Gwynn and Ryne Sandberg appear, while Wade Boggs does not. That omission demonstrates why a Topps rookie list cannot substitute for the smaller O-Pee-Chee checklist.
1984 O-Pee-Chee
The 396-card issue includes Don Mattingly and Darryl Strawberry. Later production allows team-change notations on selected cards. Preserve the O-Pee-Chee identity and bilingual back when comparing cards that share a photograph with their Topps counterparts.
1985 O-Pee-Chee
The 396-card checklist again adapts Topps for the Canadian market, with bilingual trivia and O-Pee-Chee front branding. Canadian-team representation differs from the larger American set. Use O-Pee-Chee's actual numbering rather than importing Topps card numbers from a player checklist.
1986 O-Pee-Chee
Box-bottom cards are a separate cut-out group, distinguished by lettered numbers and red fronts. They should be cataloged separately from ordinary pack-issued cards. The condition of a hand-cut box card also requires a different description from that of a standard factory-cut example.
1987 O-Pee-Chee
The 396-card set adapts Topps' woodgrain design with O-Pee-Chee branding and bilingual back content. Wax-box cards form a separate group. A familiar Topps-style front should prompt a back check before the card is assigned to the American issue.
1988 O-Pee-Chee
The 396-card release adds selected Blue Jays and Expos draft subjects and was also offered in factory-set form. Bilingual backs and O-Pee-Chee branding distinguish it. Keep box-bottom panels and ordinary base cards in separate completion lists.
1990 O-Pee-Chee
O-Pee-Chee expands to the same 792-card scale as Topps and retains the Topps logo on fronts. Bilingual text and the O-Pee-Chee copyright on backs establish the Canadian issue. A front-only photograph may therefore be insufficient for correct identification.
1991 O-Pee-Chee
The 792-card Canadian issue again retains Topps' front branding, including the anniversary logo. Bilingual backs, copyright and selected trade notations distinguish it. Brighter stock alone should not be used to call a card Topps Tiffany without checking those identifiers.
1992 O-Pee-Chee
The 792-card issue restores the O-Pee-Chee front logo and replaces Topps' All-Star block with 22 different cards, including Gary Carter tribute material. It is therefore not an identical player-for-player checklist despite its shared size and design.
1993 O-Pee-Chee
O-Pee-Chee uses an original design for its 396-card bilingual baseball set after the Topps arrangement ends. World Champions and World Series Heroes provide separate insert groups. This release should not be identified as merely a logo variation of 1993 Topps.
1994 O-Pee-Chee
The 270-card bilingual issue is the final independent O-Pee-Chee baseball release documented in this run. Diamond Dynamos, Hot Prospects and World Series Champions are separate inserts. Their presence does not extend the main checklist into a subsequent annual set.
1995 O-Pee-Chee
The 1995 O-Pee-Chee baseball label has not been matched to a verified annual issue. Preserve it as an identification task: a front-and-back example and complete number are needed before building a baseball checklist under that year.
1996 O-Pee-Chee
No matching 1996 annual O-Pee-Chee baseball checklist has been verified for the label. Check the sport as well as the brand and date. An O-Pee-Chee product from another sport cannot establish a baseball release.
1997 O-Pee-Chee
The 1997 label remains unresolved. A purchase year or collection-folder date may differ from a card's actual issue, but that possibility is not a correction without evidence. Retain the original label until the physical card or grading label is examined.
1998 O-Pee-Chee
A 1998 O-Pee-Chee baseball base issue has not been verified from the consulted checklists. Do not extrapolate a release from the brand's earlier annual sequence. Record any actual card's full printed identity before adding a purported missing year to a collection.
1999 O-Pee-Chee
The 1999 O-Pee-Chee baseball label remains an open identification question. The later revival of the brand does not validate an intervening annual checklist. A documented example is required before this entry can become a specific set-building guide.
