1988 Score

The debut contains 660 cards organized into six color groups, with full-color player photographs on backs. Reggie Jackson tribute and Rookie Prospects groups are part of the checklist. Glossy factory-set cards need separate identification from ordinary pack versions.

1989 Score

The 660-card issue retains six color groups and includes Randy Johnson and Craig Biggio. Ken Griffey Jr. appears in Rookie/Traded rather than this base checklist. A missing Griffey card therefore does not make an otherwise complete ordinary 1989 Score set incomplete.

1990 Score

The 704-card issue includes Draft Picks, Dream Team and Bo Jackson's baseball-and-football image at 697. Hobby factory sets add a separate Dream Team Rookies group. Those extras should not be assumed present in every retail factory set.

1991 Score

The checklist expands to 893 cards in two series, with Mike Mussina and Chipper Jones among rookie subjects. Master Blasters, Rifleman and Dream Team are different subsets. Their distinctive designs still occupy base-set positions and matter to completeness.

1992 Score

The 893-card, two-series structure continues. A Memorabilia subset pictures collection objects rather than necessarily embedding game-used material. Series Two Rookie Prospects have documented stripe variations, so identify the actual printed version when pursuing a variation collection.

1993 Score

Score returns to a single 660-card series, including Derek Jeter among Draft Picks. All-Star Caricatures and Dream Team are base subsets. This is separate from the new Select product and should not be merged with it under the shared manufacturer.

1994 Score

Two 330-card series form the 660-card set, with navy borders and a Gold Rush parallel. Stadium cards double as team checklists. Gold Rush is a separate treatment; a base stadium card still belongs in the ordinary completion count.

1995 Score

The checklist contracts to 605 cards across series of 330 and 275. Green-and-beige borders and a redesigned logo distinguish the issue. Rookie Dream Team, Rookie Greatness and Rules add separate insert projects beyond that base run.

1996 Score

The two-series set contains 517 cards. Numbers Game, Power Pace, Reflextions and Titanic Taters are distinct insert groups. Retaining those full titles prevents a visually different insert from being assigned incorrectly to the base numbering.

1997 Score

The 551-card checklist appears in retail and thicker Premium Stock/Hobby Reserve versions. Card 514 is absent because Sheffield and Thome both carry 515, and card 551 has language variations. Record stock, series and language as well as the number.

1998 Score

The 270-card set was sold in original and All-Star Edition packaging, but their base cards are identical. The difference lies in insert content. Packaging alone should not be used to claim a distinct All-Star Edition base parallel.
