1986 Sportflics

The inaugural release contains 200 baseball cards alongside separate trivia material. Although packaging calls it Series One, a second series did not follow. Do not extrapolate missing numbers from that packaging language, and keep trivia pieces outside the baseball-card completion total.

1987 Sportflics

The 195-card lenticular set includes color photographs on backs. Copyright dates vary, and factory-set cards can carry a 1986 copyright despite being a 1987 issue. Identify the checklist and design before assigning the product year from that line alone.

Documenting a moving image

A lenticular card is designed to reveal different images from different angles. For identification, a short sequence of angled photographs can be more informative than one scan, which may catch overlapping images. The back supplies the year, subject and number needed to distinguish a multi-player card from an ordinary single-player entry.

Copyright dates deserve special care in 1987 because documented cards can carry a 1986 line. Do not reassign the issue year from that line alone. Trivia cards and panels should also retain their own formats in an inventory. A complete baseball-card run and a collection including every accompanying trivia piece are separate goals and should be described separately.
