2022 Topps Chrome Sonic

The 225-card Sonic checklist follows 2022 Chrome and includes its high-number rookie group. The product was released in February 2023. Topps identifies 1996 Youthquake and Chrome Exposé as Sonic content, with the former borrowing a basketball-insert design for modern baseball subjects.

Recognizing Sonic-specific content

Start with the 2022 product identity even when the original purchase or opening occurred in 2023. Sonic shares the ordinary Chrome design, so an unmarked base card needs careful cataloging rather than an unsupported assertion that its appearance proves exclusive distribution. Sonic-specific parallels and inserts supply clearer edition identifiers.

Youthquake is a retro-design insert inspired by an earlier basketball issue, while the players and product here are baseball. Preserve both the 2022 issue year and the full insert title. The high-number rookie group should also be checked explicitly when assessing a complete base collection, rather than stopping at the familiar 220-card portion of Chrome.
