1991 Topps Desert Shield
The 792-card parallel carries a gold Desert Shield emblem on the front. It follows the regular Topps checklist, including Chipper Jones. Preserve the exact issue on any graded-card description and inspect the stamp and card together, since ordinary 1991 Topps is a different version.
Document the stamp and certification
An ordinary 1991 Topps card shares the underlying design and number with Desert Shield. The gold emblem therefore needs to be evaluated together with the card, rather than accepting a general anniversary logo as proof of the issue. Request a sharply focused stamp photograph and full front-and-back views.
For a graded example, compare the visible holder label, certification record and photographed card identity. The grade describes the grader's assessment of that submitted example; it does not eliminate the need to match the pictured card to the certification. Keep Topps Tiffany and bilingual O-Pee-Chee separate even when their brighter stock or similar front design makes a mixed collection look uniform.
