1992 Topps Gold
Gold foil on the player and team information identifies this parallel, with a Topps Gold marking on backs. The checklist replaces the ordinary checklist-card slots with player cards. Gold Winners adds its own wording, so check the actual foil inscription before assigning the version.
Gold, Gold Winners and the base checklist
The foil player-and-team area is the visible starting point, but the Winners wording and back details distinguish related versions. A collection titled simply “1992 Gold” should specify whether it contains ordinary Gold, Gold Winners or both. Do not apply the serial-number convention of later Topps Gold years to these cards.
The parallel's player substitutions at the regular checklist-card positions also mean that the paper checklist is not a perfect subject-by-subject completion guide. Review those positions against the Gold list. Historical contest material should be inventoried separately from delivered cards, with no assumption that an old offer remains redeemable.
